Shingles is an infection caused by the varicella-zoster virus, which also causes chickenpox. It occurs in people who have had chickenpox and represents a reactivation of the dormant virus.
The first sign is usually a tingling feeling, itchiness, or pain on the skin. After a few days, a rash appears as a band or patch of raised dots on the side of the trunk or face. The shingles rash develops into small, fluid-filled blisters that begin to dry out and crust over within several days.
Pain from shingles can be excruciating, oftentimes described as deep burning or “stabbing” pain, often in conjunction with uncontrollable itching and deep, debilitating aches.
Although shingles can be very painful and itchy, it is not generally dangerous to healthy individuals and it usually resolves without complications. The rash and pain usually go away within 3 to 5 weeks.
Colloidal Silver with its anti-viral properties can be very soothing and effective for this condition. The liquid can be conveniently sprayed on the affected area and, at the same time, 20 ml taken three times a day orally.
